MSCA member Rasmussen Mechanical recently partnered with Convoy of Hope for a hygiene kit-packing event at the company’s facility in Council Bluffs, IA. Approximately 150 Rasmussen employees from offices across the Midwest joined the two-hour event on April 29, 2023. The team was able to assemble 5,000 individual hygiene kits for people displaced by recent natural disasters in the U.S. The kits were stacked on pallets and loaded into a Convoy of Hope tractor-trailer, parked inside Rasmussen’s warehouse.
Brian Rasmussen, the company’s CEO, first became familiar with Convoy at the 2022 MSCA Conference in Huntington Beach, CA. He took part in a similar event with Convoy at the conference and decided he wanted to replicate the event for his company. “I think it’s important for our industry and people everywhere to give back, we felt that Convoy of Hope and Rasmussen Mechanical were a good partnership for this event,” Rasmussen said. His desire was to provide an opportunity for his employees, who were in town for the organization’s annual meeting, to participate in a community service project that would make a tangible difference to people in need. Rasmussen has locations in Denver, Sturgis, Omaha, and Sioux City, in addition to Council Bluffs. Workers from each location were present for the event.
