Manufacturer / Supplier Companies

Membership in the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) is not limited to contractors. Manufacturer and Supplier companies that support the mechanical contracting industry may also join MCAA as full members of the association with a distinct membership track designed to support relationship-based engagement, education, and meaningful collaboration with MCAA contractor members.

Unlike many organizations that offer suppliers limited partnership or vendor status, MCAA’s Manufacturer / Supplier (M/S) membership model is built around long-term relationships, education, and collaboration. This structure reflects how MCAA contractor members prefer to engage and ensures supplier participation is grounded in trust, credibility, and meaningful involvement, rather than mass marketing or lead generation.

What are Membership Benefits for MCAA Council Participation?

Council participation includes all Manufacturer / Supplier Membership benefits plus eligibility to attend, exhibit, and sponsor the MCAA Annual Convention.

How is Eligibility for Council Participation Determined?

Council Participation is an earned designation intended for Manufacturer / Supplier members that demonstrate sustained, meaningful engagement with MCAA.

Eligibility is reviewed once per year, with consideration given to a member’s overall level of participation and support over the prior three years. Council availability is limited and not guaranteed.

Engagement may include involvement in MCAA programs, events, education, and sponsorship activities that support the association and its contractor members. No single activity or contribution guarantees Council eligibility.

This approach ensures Council participation, reflects long-term commitment and preserves the integrity of participation at the MCAA Annual Convention.

What are Membership Dues for Council Participation?

  • $3,000 annual Council participation fee, in addition to Manufacturer / Supplier Membership dues
  • Council participation fee is not prorated
  • Council Participation based on availability

What are Membership Benefits for Manufacturer / Supplier Governing Board Members?

Manufacturer / Supplier members whose combined sponsorship and support contributions meet or exceed the MCAA Annual Convention Supporter-level sponsorship value for the current year ($25k in 2026) are eligible to participate on the M/S Governing Board.

Eligible contributions may include event, program, or other qualifying sponsorships across MCAA.

MCAA is a unique organization—one where manufacturers and suppliers are not just participants, but full members with access to the same events, insights, and relationships as contractor members.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are exhibit opportunities guaranteed?

No. Some engagement opportunities, including event exhibits, are capacity-limited and subject to availability. MCAA Annual Convention booth space is available only to M / S members participating in the M / S Council.

Exhibiting is not required to be considered for Council participation. There are multiple ways to stay engaged and demonstrate participation across MCAA programs.

Do I need to exhibit at events to advance to Council participation?

No. Council eligibility is based on overall engagement over a three-year lookback, not on any single activity.

Participation may include a combination of:

  • Event attendance
  • Exhibits
  • Sponsorship
  • Educational and content contributions

Engagement is highly encouraged and evaluated holistically.

If I meet the engagement criteria, am I guaranteed Council participation?

Meeting eligibility requirements does not automatically guarantee advancement.

Council participation is capped at 120 companies, and advancement occurs annually based on available openings. M/S Members who are not advanced in a given membership term are encouraged to remain engaged and will continue to be considered in future cycles.

How often are Council participation decisions made?

Council advancement is reviewed once per year on April 1st, aligned with the membership renewal cycle and confirmed vacancies.

This approach ensures consistency and fairness for all members.

What does success look like for Manufacturer / Supplier Members?

Manufacturer / Supplier membership provides access to MCAA programs, resources, and engagement opportunities (excluding the MCAA Annual Convention)

Many members find value in participating through education, sponsorship, and industry involvement without pursuing Council participation. Council advancement is one possible path, but it is not the only measure of a successful or valuable membership.

Will participation as a non-member count toward Council eligibility?

During the transition membership term of April 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027, some events may allow participation by both members and non-members.

Participation as a non-member does not count toward Council eligibility or advancement consideration.

What happens if a Council member stops participating?

Council participation requires that M/S participants remain actively engaged.

Council participating companies that do not attend the MCAA Annual Convention for two consecutive years will no longer be able to participate in Council activities to ensure Council opportunities remain available to engaged members.

How will I know where I stand for advancement to Council Participation?

Engagement is reviewed annually using consistent criteria applied across all members. Advancement determinations are made at the start of each membership term based on confirmed Council vacancies. Individual scores, rankings, or real-time status updates are not provided. Council eligibility is based on overall engagement over a three-year lookback, not on any single activity.

Engagement may include a combination of:

  • Event attendance
  • Exhibits
  • Sponsorship
  • Educational and content contributions

Engagement activity is evaluated holistically, tracked for program administration purposes, and is not shared or evaluated outside the annual review cycle

Can the engagement criteria change?

Engagement criteria may be refined over time to reflect program growth, capacity, and member feedback.

Any updates will be communicated clearly and in advance.
